"First Family of Hip Hop" follows the children and grandchildren of Sylvia Robinson, the legendary singer, producer and record label executive who founded Sugar Hill Records, which introduced hip hop to the mainstream with the hit song, "Rapper's Delight." Now, the younger generation of the Robinson family is eager to forge their own legacy and take Sugar Hill Records to the next level. Sylvia's son, Leland, currently oversees the company, but his children and nephew represent the future of the record label.
